Goat Hill Park’s Caddie & Leadership Academy
Goat Hill Park’s Caddie & Leadership Academy offers a paid working opportunity for youth ages 13 to 18 to learn and understand the game of golf by becoming a caddie. This program teaches valuable communication and leadership skills that benefit participants well beyond their time in the Academy.
Throughout the summer, caddies are assigned a “loop”—a job caddying for a player during weekends or at a variety of events such as private tournaments, member medals, golf leagues, and weekly skins games. The Academy is dedicated to instilling a strong work ethic, building lifelong interpersonal skills, and helping grow the game of golf.
We are proud to announce that Goat Hill Park’s Caddie & Leadership Academy is now accredited by the Evans Scholarship Foundation. Qualified caddies could have the opportunity to earn a full college scholarship through caddying at Goat Hill Park.

North County Junior Golf Association
The North County Junior Golf Association (NCJGA) is a 501.c.3 non-profit that runs its program at Goat Hill Park in Oceanside. Founders David & Marcia Emerick are passionate about growing the game in our youth, and instilling values and skills in children that will help them excel far beyond the game of golf. David Emerick, PGA, hosts junior clinics, private lessons, and the NCJGA tournament series.
2017 will be their 19th year providing golf services to the youth of North San Diego County. This year the NCJGA will be hosting 26 events that provide playing opportunities for boys and girls 6-18, all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged to participate. Events are unique, as they pair the kids not only by age, but by skill levels. This makes for a good first step into tournament golf. Events are held monthly on Sundays at both Executive Tour (ET) golf courses as well as Championship Tour (CT) full-length championship courses. The events are hosted by David Emerick, PGA.
